Over the last couple of weeks we have been working on registering for baby stuff. Jon is having a lot of fun scanning items in. We are happy to get this moving as invitations for the family baby shower will be going out this week. Good thing we got the new bigger car! We are registered at Target and Babies 'r us.
Jacob has been kicking up a storm. He likes sporting events and Jon's driving. The bigger movements can be seen on the outside. Sometimes he moves so much while Kathie is at work, she has trouble focusing on work. She even tells him to settle down.
Tyler can no longer lay comfortably on Kathie's lap, he now has to lay by her side, propped against the arm rest. Izzie is still as hyper as ever.
Be sure to check out the belly growth post as he is really growing.
The latest and maybe kind of greatest news from Jon, Kathie and Jacob Bernhardt and Tyler and Izzie.

New pictures of Jacob
Jacob has been kicking and moving a lot more lately. Kathie sometimes has to get up and walk around at work to put him back asleep. Last week, we had another check up. Everything looks great and is going well. He is right on track with all of his measurements. Here are the new pictures.....

We have baby classes coming. They include things such as: car seats, breast feeding, and child birth class. We are gearing up for Jacob and are excited for him to arrive.
Sign and drive
Kathie and I decided to get a new car for her. She will need it after Jacob is born and I go to work. We had been looking at a Chevy Equinox. The items that we absolutely needed were remote start, sun roof and cloth seats.
We had been looking for a little while. We stopped here in Rochester, then went to Zumbrota (20 miles north), and then Faribault (50 miles northwest). We decided on the Faribault dealer as they had one on the lot, and the best price. We expected to have to wait a day or two. 2 and 1/2 hours later, we drove the new car home.

Visitors for the weekend
Jon's parents were up to visit this weekend. We all went out to celebrate Jon's birthday. We ate at Timberlodge on Friday and got ready for the cold on Saturday. It took Dave and Elsie 5 and 1/2 hours to get home Saturday night. Usually the drive is 3 1/2 hours.
Jacob is kicking Kathie quite a bit. He likes to kick her bladder and not kick when I feel for him. She is getting used to feeling him move. The usual times of most of the movement are morning drive time, about 1 Pm and bedtime.

And his name will be...
(Drum roll) After much thinking and pondering, we will announce the name of our baby boy. It will be....Jacob Roger Bernhardt. We wanted to use Roger in honor of Jon's grandfather, and Jacob is a good traditional name that went well with Roger. Below is the list we put together as we were looking at names.
It's halftime, do you know where your cats are?
Ours...sleeping upstairs for hours at a time. We watched the first half of the Super Bowl and the cats stayed upstairs. Tyler found the chair in the baby's room and Izzie was on the back of the couch upstairs. She awoke when we went upstairs to get some water. Below the pictures.

On another note, we got our first campaign phone call. It was from Obama's camp. We are waiting for the others.
Jon has taken the website down as that is tougher to update than this. It should be back up some time after the baby is born. That way we will have a site that does not need the constant updates.
