"The video"

We saw the “video” in birth class this past week. We both made it through it ok. We then got to tour the birthing rooms in the hospital. The room is good size. They have a nice comfortable place for the moms, but dad gets a not so comfy chair. The rooms look really nice, and we enjoy taking the birthing classes every week.

We have the furniture....

We got the last big piece of furniture for Jacob’s room. We finally got the dresser/changing table. It had arrived the Thursday before the baby shower, but it was damaged so we reordered a new one. This arrived on Friday and with some help of one of Kathie’s co-worker, we got it to the house in to the room. So far the cats have stayed off of it because we have put a lot of stuff on it.

Baby Shower

Sorry about no updates last weekend, as we were in Underwood for a baby shower. We had a great time and got a car load of things for Jacob. Thank you to everyone that was there. We are busy sorting and putting everything away in the baby’s room. Kathie enjoyed the games and the company. Jon and his brother headed for Bass Pro Shops and the casino to watch the NCAA tourney. The cats were excited to see us when we got home.

Appointment update, getting ready for Showers and Random cat acts

We had an appointment on Wednesday. Kathie had to do a glucose test. First by drinking a bad sugar drink and waiting an hour. Then a blood test. The good thing is that she passed so she does not have to the longer one.

Everything is going well with Jacobs growth, and the heartbeat is good. He now seem to somersault in Kathie's belly. He has only awoken Kathie up a couple of times during the night. We are still waiting on the crib and the changing table. We are ready for the baby shower next weekend. Hopefully the Omaha area is not too nuts with the first and second rounds of the NCAA tourney in Omaha that weekend.

The cats are acting a little more hyper now that the temperatures are warming up. Birds are in the air and we have opened the windows a couple of nights. This is how Izzie got stuck for a little bit between the screen door and the patio door. Well, snow on Monday, summer can not get here soon enough.

Items from Car Seat Class

On Tuesday Kathie and I went to a car seat safety class. Very nice and informative. We even got to practice with a model of what we already have on a car seat. There were a couple of items I wanted to share from the class.

First, this was heard from one of the dads: "It is so easy, even I can do it." The next one came after the instructors told that we should test on something the size of a child. Our first thoughts were of trying to put one of our cats in the seat. That most likely would not work as they kinda freaked about the bouncer when hung up last week.

Baby classes and furniture

We are starting our baby classes this week. We start with a car seat safety class and birthing classes start the next week. We are very excited and looking forward to the classes.

We have also ordered more furniture for the baby's room. The crib and changing table/dresser. We got these a Babies R us. A nice pine wood crib and matching dresser. We ill have a lot in the room in the next two weeks.

We bought Transformers and apparently Jacob like action movies. When he heard the action he bounced so hard it was very visible in Kathie's belly. He has woken Kathie up a couple of times during the night, but not too much yet.

Hyper Baby

Jacob has been very hyper and active as of late. He has succeeded in waking up Kathie during the night a couple of times. Sitting on the couch, we have seen her belly just jump and move. He seems to be very active. He likes music beats with a bass beat. Kathie says the he can be "scary active" sometimes.

We are happy to announce that we are under 100 days until the due date. We are very excited and are looking forward to getting the furniture for the baby's room. We are also excited about the baby shower coming up.
