Random Cat Pictures

The classes are over!

Kathie and I finished our baby class this week. We visited the post-partum floor. We saw where we will be sending the 48 hours after Jacob is born. Very secure and very nice. We even received a "certificate" that we attended the class. We joke that we are now able to have the baby according to the hospital.

Jacob has been kicking and seeming to be running out of room. Kathie has really felt him move as of late. He gains about 1/2 pound a week now.

Snow in the end of April??

So we woke up Saturday morning and found this on our deck....

It is almost spring right?

Dessert with the neighbors

And for the final reason I did not update on Sunday. We were over at our neighbor's house until 10 PM having dessert. Bob and Marge live down the street and have lived on the block the longest. Being a retired minister, they love to talk and have neighbors over for dessert. We had a great time and talked with another set of neighbors.

Beautiful day to do some yard work

It was a nice 68 degrees on Sunday. (Another reason I did not update) Kathie sat outside and enjoyed the sun and nice day, and I raked the yard. I also cleaned up the pine needles and the garage. It was fun trying to start the mower for the first time this year. I almost pulled my shoulder out. Well, that and the weed eater ran nicely. I also made sure the little gas left in the snow thrower was burned off. Now it can snow all it wants!

Happy Birthday Dan!

My brother, Dan came up to visit this past week. (That is only part of the reason I was not able to update on Sunday) Dan and I went to the Twins game on Saturday and hung out around Rochester the rest of the weekend. The cats sure enjoyed having a visitor, especially Izzie, as she had a new playmate. Thanks for coming up Dan.

Learning about pain management

One of our baby classes this week was on pain management. Items like what to expect during labor, epidurals, spinal blocks and c-sections. We have already decided to have Kathie be able to walk around and move while in labor. So this means we are going to try and avoid the epidural and use the narcotics to help Kathie through the pain.

We have been gradually getting ready for Jacob's birth. The room is getting items, one at a time now. Kathie has an upcoming baby shower at work, so we should have more items for Jacob.

Organizing Jaocb's room

Along with spring cleaning we have been organizing Jacob's room and stuff. I put together the swing and the baby "lounger" we got from the baby shower. Right now the swing is in the basement and lounger is upstairs.

We have also put up a baby gate to get the cats used to not being able to go into Jacob's room unsupervised. So far it is working. Kathie put away almost all of the stuff we have for him so far. We are really getting excited and she even is thinking about getting a hospital bag together, or at least starting on that.

Work has been going very well for both of us. Kathie gets a lot of walking in at work, and usually sees our doctor in the hallway about 2 to 3 times a week. They are starting to prepare for her absence. I am planning to take a little while off of work when he come, so I am starting to get ready there.

Spring cleaning

This past weekend we decided to start on spring cleaning. Last weekend I cleaned out the garage and organized that. This weekend, we cleaned the baby stuff (car seat, stroller, etc) and Jacob's room. We also had the great time of giving our two fur balls a bath since it was nice out.

We started with Tyler and he was quiet and handled the bath like a champ. Izzie was a different story. She squirmed, howled and meowed the whole time. Tyler got worried and started howling back at her as we gave her a bath. As of tonight, they are still getting back to normal and look a little upset at us.
