Sunday 6-29

We went out to lunch and found that Jacob can be pretty portable. Just one little fuss while we ate and none while I got my hair cut. He slept a lot today, we think he is growing. Still did not mow, probably later this week when it is 80+ out. Ah well, I'll get to it soon.

Watch Jacob Grow!!

Due to the popularity of the Watch Kathie's Belly grow post (one last picture was added!), here is the watch Jacob grow post!

Saturday 6-28

The weekend is here. Ah the days before Jacob. Sleep, relax and not do a lot. Well, we still have the not do a lot going. We got some sleep and did some house work that is needed. I need to mow, but a lot of rain today so maybe later.

Yes that is a baby bunny hiding in our tall grass.

Friday 6-27

I spent the day at work and Kathie and Jacob had a good day at home. He had a little tummy time and the cats are starting to get more used to him.

Thursday 6-26

Jacob had a weight check and he is now above his birth weight at 9 lbs and 10 oz. It has to be all of the milk he has been taking in. After the appointment, I went to work and Kathie spent the day with Jacob at home. She is feeling better about spending the days at home. They go fast and she does a lot, so is not missing work so much now. Jacob also had a little tummy time.

Wednesday 6-25

Another decent night of sleep. I could get used to this. Kathie and I have developed a theory about Jacob. We call it the thru-put theory. While he takes milk in, he poops at the same time. It just seems to happen that way. All we can do is but laugh. Kathie went out on her own to Target to get out. She is feeling better everyday.

Tuesday 6-24

This morning Jacob did not want to sleep for a while. It took a lot of pacing and hoping, but he finally went to sleep. I went to work for 4 hours today, mainly while he slept. I dug out of my emails and prioritized the work that needed to be done.

Jacob was active when I got home. He was wide awake and focusing on movement. Again, it took a while to put him to sleep, and now that he is, I am typing this quick so I can sleep. So here are the days pictures.

Monday 6-23

After being baptized by Jacob multiple times, Kathie and I have gotten quicker in our diaper changes. I spent about an hour and a half at work for a meeting, leaving Kathie and Jacob by themselves for the first time at home. Everything went well. We then took Jacob to my office and it was the typical group of guys looking at a baby. Semi-circle around the sleeping baby going "Yep, that is a baby." I guess that is OK, seeing how Alan (my boss) and myself are the only fathers in the office so far.

I'll have picture updates in a little bit. I am working on a photo archive of Jacob pictures that will be constantly updated, and a new series slide show, Watch Jacob grow.

Sunday 6-22

Well, the first full day without grandparents and it went well. Kathie and I were baptized by Jacob last night. All we could do was laugh. We had about 5 hours of sleep and another 2 this afternoon, so on that front we are doing great. We went own our first family shopping trip to Target and he slept through the whole trip.

Only one picture of Jacob today, I wanted to show that our life is getting back to something that resembles normal life. In the next day or two, I'll have the final picture for Kathie's growing belly, and start the watch Jacob grow post. I am also planning a photo archive for Jacob on Flickr, so keep checking.

Saturday 6-21

After a very decent night, a bright and sunny day. Jacob stayed on a decent schedule and we got a good amount of sleep. This was the last day the grandparents were going to be here, so family pictures and printing a lot of pictures. Now, we are officially on our own! Well, I guess we still have the help from the cats.

Beware! This may be too cute to handle!

My father used to sing a song to my brother and myself when we were infants. The song is "Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor.

Thursday 6-19

Jacob had a long night, but Grandma Trede thinks she figured out what it was. He just doesn't burp that well and we have to take our time. Jacob had a well baby check up, everything looks very good. We (Jacob, Kathie and myself) slept for most of the afternoon. He then woke up, was fed and had a bath. And now, pictures....

Lessons learned from a long night....

1. Sleep when you can
2. 1:30 AM diaper changes are a tag team effort
3. Sleep when you can
4. Look out for cats laying in the middle of the hallway
5. Sleep when you can (a theme is emerging)
6. Don't forget where the pacifier is
7. And last...Be happy with your amount of sleep

Wednesday night....

We have an appointment tomorrow for Jacob. He is doing well, and eating a lot! The cats are getting more and more used to him.

Wednesday....

Kathie, Jacob and myself all had a good night and got to sleep good. Yes the cats are around. They have been in Jacob's room with us and they just sniff around. They don't like it when he cries. Grandma and Grandpa Trede are so helpful and are feeding Kathie and myself. Grandma even took him this morning so we could sleep.
