Well, we are all doing well. Jacob is enjoying daycare and Kathie and I are working hard. We have settled into a routine. He is sleeping about 6 to 7 hours waking up for a bottle and then back to sleep for a little bit until we need to wake him for day care.
He is about 18 pounds and just keeps growing. We picked up his 3 month pictures and will be distributing them when we head south next time. We took Jacob to an October Fest thing here in town and it was a little crowded. He passed out. We then headed home because of the crowd.
We will headed south in a couple of weeks, so expect a lot of pictures from that.
The latest and maybe kind of greatest news from Jon, Kathie and Jacob Bernhardt and Tyler and Izzie.

A decent weekend
We survived the first week of daycare and this weekend was pretty good. We tried to stay on his schedule to keep him in the same rhythm as the week days. We had pictures taken of Jacob on Saturday and hung out the rest of the weekend. We even added a photo to the Watch Jacob grow slide show because he turns 3 month old on Monday.

Product of a mixed marriage
On days like this, Jacob is confused who to cheer for Iowa or Iowa State. Mom being a graduate of Iowa and Dad being a big fan of Iowa State, this weekend is always fun. And of course we schedule pictures of Jacob during game time. That is OK since it is not on TV here. Here is a picture of Jacob this morning.

Pictures from day care and more
A different place
I know that I have not added new pictures yet. We have been adjusting to a new schedule and dropping a kid off at daycare. I know a year from now it will be old hat, but it is something we had to start.
Sunday Jacob let me watch football and Nascar, and Kathie got some work done. Monday was the big day, and there were no tears from Mom. She hoped he behaved himself and we received some photos and it looked good. He had a good day and napped a couple of times. So far so good. I promise to have new pictures hopefully tonight.

Finally an update
We had a long weekend last weekend. Jacob was fussy and gassy and did not want to sleep. We tried about everything. Kathie went out and got some gas drops for him and those seemed to have worked. It is like Gas-x for infants. He burped better and felt better. Sunday he was a different baby than Saturday.
Then started out pretty well, five hours of sleep during the first stretch at night and then starting about Thursday, he did not want to sleep well. It was not the same as last week. He just did not want to fall asleep.
We tried laying him flat, holding him against our chest, every time we set him down in the crib, the eyes would pop open. The only thing that seems to work to get him to fall asleep is the swing again. So far, today has gone well.
Big week next week for Kathie and Jacob. Jacob starts daycare as Kathie goes back to work. She is kind of dreading it, but it has to happen. We need to pay for his diapers and formula some how.
I will be adding pictures tomorrow, so be sure to check back.

I know it has been a while
Yes we are all ok. We had a long weekend (not so much fun), and it is Kathie's last week of maternity leave so we have been a little busy. I'll be updating this in the next day or two.
