Three day weekends are the best!
We slept in all three days. Kathie and I got a lot done this weekend. We got flowers for the house and even washed the windows (inside and out). The cats had to help there. We finalized packing for the hospital. We also got to relax. We watched the two major races on Sunday and grilled up some ribs.
Kathie gets pampered, Jon goes out with the boys
Kathie spent a couple of hours getting a massage and a pedicure on Saturday. We decided to get this before Jacob came and we did not have a lot of free time, if any. She wanted to have her toe nails painted before she went in to labor. She really enjoyed the time, especially when she got to lay on her front.
That night, Jon was invited to a guys night at Duane's (Kathie's boss) house. We had steaks and lots of drinks. That made the night of Mario Kart on the Wii very interesting. Overall, we both had a great Saturday.

Another week down
Well, we are a week closer and Jacob seems to be moving closer to the exit. He has been squirming and moving quite a bit. Kathie is sleeping through most of them but they can be distracting during the day. We have an appointment this week and are now considered full term.
Next weekend, Kathie is going to be pampered. I am taking her to have a pregnancy safe massage and pedicure. She wanted her toenails painted before she went to the hospital, and this will be it.
We have decided on a church in Rochester. Mount Olive Lutheran church is close and we really like the pastors. You can check them out here at their web site.
If anyone watches the Discovery channel then they probably have seen the I love the whole world commercial. Now on their site you can download the video or mp3. Check that out here under "Plug Ins".

Busy last week....
Kathie had an appointment for the baby on Tuesday and we had a baby shower on Thurday at Kathie's lab. Jacob still appears to be heathly and is very active. Kathie has being feeling Jacob move and kick very hard as of late. We had a great time and the shower on Thursday. Here are some pictures from that.

What is your guess?
On the right hand side of the blog you may notice some names, dates and weights. Kathie's coworkers started this during our latest baby shower. If you want to guess or have some input, please email me at jonbernhardt@charter.net. Or fill out the form below the current list, and I'll add it as soon as I can.

We have a garage door down!
It happened Tuesday. As we were leaving for work the garage door came down and had one side up about 3 inches. Well, I drove back up the drive way and found that a cable had snapped. We went to work and came that in the evening to look at it again. With thunderstorms in the area we were thinking about trying to raise to get the car in. Luckily the bad weather was to our east and south.
I decided it would be way over my head to try and resolve this issue alone, so I saw a sticker on the garage door. It was the company that had installed the door. So I called and they are coming out Wednesday to fix it. I'll update this Wednesday evening.
****UPDATE*****
They fixed the door better than when we moved in to this house. They oiled the springs and the rollers and replaced some worn nuts and bolts.

We have a busy week ahead
With the due date getting closer and the weather getting warmer, we are getting more busy around here. We have another appointment on Tuesday. We get to hear his heartbeat again. We have one two weeks after that, then one every week until Jacob arrives.

We also have another baby shower on Thursday. This one is at Kathie's work place. Her lab mates are putting it on and of course I'll be there. I would not pass up on free food, and away from work.
The temps are now above 60 normally everyday so the yard work is starting and the cats need to have windows open to see out. I am going to try and get as much done as I can before the big day. Speaking of the cats, Tyler loves it when Kathie takes a nap:
Matching outfits
I know, Jacob is not here yet. Be we had to get this. We were shopping in Babie's R Us and found this outfit to match Jon. Oh, there will be pictures of the two together when he is finally here.
