Baby class reunion

Ok, so there were only 3 babies there. But they were the best ones! This was a reunion for our baby class from before Jacob's birth. He got to meet two new girl friends!

A good week of growing up

Jacob spent a good portion of the week fussing about his tooth that is coming in. He was a mess of drool, snot, and putting his hands in his mouth. The poor kid can hold on to a teething ring to help so we do what we can for him. So far the best thing we have found is to interact with him as much as possible. This helps take his mind off of the tooth.

He has been sleep pretty well this week. Down around 8 and up to eat around 4 AM. Then back down until 6:30 to get ready for daycare. Friday night he slept through the whole night. That was a first for him. Tyler and Jacob snuggled on Kathie's lap on Friday night.

Saturday morning Jacob was happy and we had been given the green light to give him rice cereal. He enjoyed it and was messy as well. I'll have videos posted Monday night.

We spent the rest of the weekend trying to keep him calm and not fussing too much. We can't wait for that tooth to come out. He is really starting to show his personality. He even is starting to giggle and do raspberries. Both of which I have on video and will post soon. Over all a good week and a good weekend.

Visits to both Grandparents and friends

This past weekend we traveled to Underwood with a stop in Coulter on the way. Grandpa and Grandma Bernhardt had a great time with Jacob. He traveled very well and slept the two hours to Coulter and then 3 hours the next day on the way to Underwood.

Once in Underwood, Grandma and Grandpa Trede pretty much took over. There were a lot of pictures taken and he was great. Grandma T took care of Jacob over night so Kathie and I could sleep.

On Saturday, Jacob, Kathie and I went to the Cary's house to have lunch with some of our friends and catch up on the goings on. We had a great time and Jacob was passed around. That night, Kathie's side of the family came over to Grandma Trede's house for supper and to meet Jacob. Again more pictures were taken.

Kathie and I headed out for her 10 year high school reunion at Bailey's in Council Bluffs. It was good. I knew a good amount of people as I graduated a year behind Kathie at the same school. What was not good is that I had to watch Iowa State get beat by Baylor.

We traveled home on Sunday and that went well. We had a stop in Ankeny to eat lunch and change a diaper. We then headed north and stopped in Coulter again for a break. He slept every time we put him in the car. Even on the rest of the way home. Over all a great trip.

4 month doctor's visit and pictures

I know it has been a while since the last post. We have been busy with yard work, keeping the house clean, looking after Jacob and working to pay for his food and diapers. Everything is well.

He just had his 4 month check up and here are the stats. Weight is 17 lb, 4 ounces. 26 inches long. 90th percentile for everything, and right on track. He looks to be ahead on his development milestones by about 2 or so months. Of course he had a head start being do big.

He also is now taking baths in the bathtub and loves it. He loves to splash the water and kick a lot. Izzie has to watch and gets wet every once in a while.

Here are the pictures.
